Burke Art 2 students created portraits for a nonprofit organization called The Memory Project. Their mission is to connect youth around the world through art to help build cultural understanding and international kindness. The Memory Project gets its name from its first intention, which is to provide handmade, heartfelt portraits as special memories to children in orphanages. They are using art to reach a distant destination: a kinder world in which all youth see themselves in one another regardless of differences in their appearance, culture, religion, or circumstances.
The portraits made here in Burke will be sent to children in India.

💙 Today, Burke students proudly wore blue to show support and raise awareness for those living with diabetes. This is a day to honor the strength and resilience of all those affected by this condition, including members of our community who face the daily challenges diabetes brings. Let’s stand together, raise awareness, and show our support! 💙
🌟 Kindness Week was an absolute blast! 🌟 Our school community is filled with so many thoughtful individuals who genuinely care and share so much positivity. Kindness Week reminds us how simple acts can brighten someone’s day, but here in our community, kindness isn’t just a week—it’s a value lived out every day. Thank you to everyone for making our school such a welcoming place! 💙
🍁 Our 6th and 7th graders took Kindness Week to heart by rolling up their sleeves and raking! 🍂 Their hard work and smiles helped bring a little extra sunshine to our community, one leaf at a time. 🌞 Thank you to these amazing students for showing how kindness can make a difference!
🤩During Kindness Week, our elementary students colored kindness notes! Today, our 2nd graders helped spread the kindness by delivering these to Brun's Market and Cahoy's Kitchen, where each customer will receive a kindness message in their grocery bags. Thank you to our students, Brun's Market, and Cahoy's Kitchen for helping us spread kindness around our community! 🥰
🌟 In the spirit of Kindness Week, Mrs. B and our NHS students prepared delicious hot chocolate to share the sweet treat of kindness with everyone! The staff was also surprised with yummy treats from Ms. Klein. Huge thanks to all for spreading kindness and warmth throughout our school!
Our 3rd and 4th grade classes came together for Kindness Week to make a difference! They teamed up to rake and bag leaves, spreading kindness through hard work and teamwork. We're so proud of their efforts! 🍂
Happy kindness day. To celebrate 5th graders helped Officer Green finish painting the handicap spots on Main Street.
